January 19 Update:
This tremendous show of love and support started from the roots of LA Crude rugby and blossomed into a full blanket of love for Chad from work to friends, from family and even to strangers.
This update is to let everyone know that Chad still hears all the positive prayers, feels the hugs even across the miles and knows every single heart that has been with him on this journey.
So even though this disease is winning the battle over his body, the Chedder we all know and love is still fighting. The thing is though, Chad's fight now is for peace. The peace for himself and the hope of peace for all of you. He doesn't want you to be sad or angry.
He wants you to embrace your inner "Chedder". Smile, be mischievous every now and then, listen to the music life brings, be fierce when it comes to your loved ones, protect what you believe in and with each of these moments...remember the Chedder before cancer.
Continue your postive thoughts, send your memories out to him and he will know they are there and take them with him when he is finally at rest.
All our love,
Jill and Hank Mitchell

The LA Crude rugby club is a tight family organization that is stepping up to support our brother Chad in a time where he needs support.
Chad "Cheddar" Mitchell, youngest of the rugby Mitchell clan has been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. During this treatment period he is off work and this fundraising effort is intended to ease the burden and allow Cheddar to focus his energy on his treatment and getting well.
Donations will be kindly accepted until Cheddar returns to work and his normal routines. The rugby club is running this in conjunction with another fundraising event - an evening of live music on Saturday September 17 at the Pat Wilson Rugby facility in Leduc.
Chad and his family have been and are a huge part of the LA Crude family for many years and it is our dutiful honor to show our unrelenting support to see him through this.
All support is greatly appreciated by the club and Mitchell family.
