Help Tiffany Fight Colon Cancer

For the past 6 months, Tiffany has been experiencing stomach pains. It was recommended that she change her diet and what she ate. After giving up foods like red meat, dairy and gluten..she still experienced bad stomach pains.

In August, Tiff woke up one morning and had blood in her stool. After a few months of experiencing the stomach pains, she had enough and was brought to Wilcox to find answers. Through CT scans and MRI, doctors found inflammation in her transversal intestine. Water wasn’t being pumped through her intestines to break down food waste. She was then admitted and monitored for 3 days with antibiotics to prevent infection and pain medication. Besides being dehydrated, she also became anemic from losing large amounts of blood in her stool.

While staying at Wilcox, doctors could not find out what triggered the inflammation.The prognosis of her hospital stay was to have a colonoscopy scheduled to find more answers. The next available appointment wasn’t until two months later.

In the beginning of October, Tiff’s stomach pains relapsed and again was brought to the ER. After running tests and blood drawn, CT scans and MRIs were ordered. The results showed that a different part of her intestines were inflamed, in the colon area. She was sent home again with antibiotics and pain meds.

If anyone knows Tiff, she’s a fighter. Although in pain, she continues to work her two jobs. She toughed it out and bared with the pain until her colonoscopy appointment.

October 19, 2023 will forever change our lives. After doing the colonoscopy and waking up from anesthesia, the doctor came into the recovery room to let our sister know that she was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Doctors found a mass on her colon and luckily was caught in the early stages. Surgery is scheduled to cut the mass out but she still has a long road ahead for recovery.
