The Ford Family

Hi my name is Erin, Lia is one of my very best friends and I am starting this on behalf of her and her family.

Some of you may or may not know my good friends Lia & Quwamay Ford, please take a moment to read about their journey and consider donating, it would be greatly appreciated. Lia and I met freshman year of highschool, Ms Watson's algebra class -we have been best friends ever since. Twenty years of friendship, we have been through quite a bit together and always show up for one another.

Q and I became friends when Lia met him in college and they started dating, we mostly bond over our adhd traits that drive Lia crazy. They just celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary and are blessed with two beautiful boys, Apollo 2 years and Emery 4 months.

Lia and Q find themselves in tough times. Lia has an aggressive form of breast cancer; triple negative, stage 3, non invasive ductal carcinoma. Lia discovered she had breast cancer at 32 weeks pregnant, she has spent her maternity leave on chemo. Lia still has surgery and radiation ahead of her, which equals more time off from work. Q takes time off from work to bring Lia to appointments and is not only caring for her but their 2 young boys, especially so when Lia is feeling the effects of her aggressive treatment.

What some may not know is that cancer is expensive, and everything cannot be covered by insurance. Frequent trips into Boston add up, and lets be honest paid leaves only last a few weeks and often do not match what your pay check looks like.

While Lia did just complete 18 rounds of chemo - her journey is not over, surgery is in October, which will be followed by daily radiation in Boston for 4-6 weeks.

Lia and Q always show up for anyone that need help. Lets all rally around them and take some of the burden off them so they aren't worrying about how to pay their mortgage or which bills to pay.
