2nd open heart procedure

My name is Toniah Spain

I’m making this Go Fund me Fundraiser because I’ve witnessed what a blessing this platform has been for others during times of need, and I’m definitely in need at this time.

In June 2020 I was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism ( two blood clots in my lungs and one in my heart) and went in for for emergency open heart surgery. The road to recovery was not an easy one. I was in the hospital for a month and couldn’t walk for 5-6 weeks after arriving home.

February of 2022 I had found out I developed pulmonary hypertension accompanied with another blood clot in my lungs that has resurfaced. The procedure I will be having on January 9th, 2023 is called an PULMONARY

ENDARTERECTOMY

CARDIOPULMONARY BYPASS.

After consulting with my cardiologist at Emory hospital he did inform me that since this is my 2nd procedure the road to recovery will be alot longer and more strenuous on my body that the first procedure. He had predicted that I will be out of work between 5-6 months.

I am currently employed at AAA as a roadside specialist. However, I have not been employed there a full year as of yet so my short term disability will not cover my living expenses while I’m recovering, only for a couple more months.

As we all know bills never stop even during health situations, which is why I’m writing this today. Im

hoping that any financial assistance will help my stress level remain as low as possible so I can get back to work and living a life worth living.
