2nd American Stephen Zabielski killed in Ukraine

Stephen Douglas Zabielski. US Army Veteran killed in Ukraine May 15, 2022. I am raising money for my mom, who’s future is uncertain given the circumstances.
Stephen was a loving and devoted husband, son, step father, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and confidant. He was a warrior with a nurturing soul. In one way or another, he was all of our bestfriends. He was truly an inspiration to all of those around him. Steve felt strongly about helping the people of Ukraine. His commander often found himself seeking advice from my amazing stepfather, who was beyond smart and tactical. Stephen and his team successfully rescued over 150 Ukrainian soldiers and civilians from certain death, and he felt as if he had done his duty. To our family, to God, to our country, and for the people of Ukraine, and was killed on his final mission, due home in 5 days.
Steve’s final act of heroism was saving his fellow soldier Gary- who survived with his help and is making a full recovery. The men he served with in Ukraine described him as the man who loved others more than himself- the one they all looked to for guidance- the one who could always put together a delicious meal. Not only was he a hero in Ukraine, he was a hero to all of us. Never wavering in his honor or duty to serve and aid where possible- big or small. Not even if it meant life or death. May we honor him for his ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom and democracy- on the front lines of a just war in the battle of good vs. evil.
Please help our family back on our feet during this time of tragedy and turmoil. Anything is greatly appreciated.
May you feast in the halls of Valhalla, Hero.
I love and miss you forever,
Christina and Family Xx
