Tom’s medical expenses

My name is Laurie and I am raising funds for my co-worker.

The fund is for Tom Kelly, a Nurse Anesthetist at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin, NJ.  Tom fell on February 10th, 2023, and suffered a fracture in his neck and is now paralyzed from the neck down.  The money raised will be used for the medical expenses and rehabilitation necessary on his journey to recovery.

The medical expenses are expected to be overwhelming for Tom’s family, as he was the primary source of income.  The rescue helicopter alone, which was required to transport him to the hospital, runs upward of $20,000 and is not covered by insurance. This comes on top of other medical costs at the hospital including his surgery, rehab and after care once he returns home. Tom has seen some promising signs already, but there is still a long road of recovery and rehabilitation for him to go through. 

As a nurse anesthetist, Tom's priority was making sure patients were comfortable. As a member of our team here at the hospital, Tom was essential in making operations run smoothly, while also using his humor to liven the mood. Tom has always been there to help patients. After his accident, he needs our help through the long ordeal he has entered. Please help us support Tom during his road to recovery.
