Extraordinary Evan

The family of Evan Flannery needs your support desperately. They found out last Friday that Evan has a large mass in his liver. His family was in Chicago all week, where testing confirmed our worst fears that it was cancer.
The good news is they think it's a variety that will respond well to chemotherapy. The tumor is too large to remove from the liver right now so they have to shrink it first. He also has a couple of small spots in his lungs that could be the cancer starting to branch out, so they need to get rid of those also.
This kind of cancer is super rare, one in a million sort of thing, but really premature kids have a much greater chance of getting it, they aren't sure why. God has carried Evan through all the other trials of prematurity, and we believe he can carry him through this too.
The family will meet the whole cancer team on Wednesday, but talking to his doctor they really think he is at the right place. You can tell she really cares, and has a lot of experience beating this cancer with other kids just like Evan.
Obviously, they are terrified on several levels, but you can't look at that face and not have hope. They have seen God breathe for him when he shouldn't have been able to, watched him learn to walk and talk when they didn't know if he ever would, and countless other miracles in his life.
As you can imagine, the burden of bills and time off from work are beginning to mount, and any and all donations will help tremendously. We will keep you posted on Evan’s progress here or on Brett and Angie’s Facebook page. This will be a long road ahead for Evan and his family, and I can’t think of a more deserving family. Thank you all for the continued prayers, positive and encouraging words. Our whole family cannot thank you enough.
