Mother's Time of Need
Donation protected
My mother, one of the most selfless people in the world, raised 11 children on her own. She worked well into her seventies to help her financially and medically burdened children in the Philippines.
In 2008, her most financially dependent daughter suggested that my mother move to the Philippines because the cost of living was much cheaper and so she could also take care of her bedridden daughter. In the eight years my mother lived there, my sister whom she lived with, withheld money sent by other family members meant for my mother and used it for herself. She locked my mother and bedridden sister away in a windowless room and refused to let her speak with anyone else in my family, including myself. My sister emotionally and medically neglected my mother and let her health decline to dangerous levels.
In 2013, I was able to go back to the Philippines to rescue her and get her proper medical attention. When I saw her, her body was malnourished and covered in bedsores and bruises related to fall incidents. Her diaper was heavily soaked in urine and feces. She immediately burst into tears exclaiming she was praying for me to come and save her. Thanks to the Lord, my mother stayed strong and kept hope.
Since then, with the help of my friends' extreme generosity and God's grace, we were able to get my mother her own apartment away from my sister. I took her shopping and treated her how she deserves to be treated: Like a human being. Like my mother. I would give her anything in the world if I could.
My mom is a fighter. On August 22nd, I found out my mother stopped breathing for 40 minutes. I prayed and I prayed and then sent a message to the man of God, Apostle David E. Taylor at 12:02 am and he prayed for my mom's healing; God raised her from the dead - she began to breathe! Praise God for all the men and women who God used to pray for my mom!
During her first visit to the hospital, she's stabilized her diabetes and fought off bronchial pneumonia; However, while she was discharged and sent back home two weeks ago, she briefly stopped breathing again. We gave her oxygen and breathing treatment and she started feeling better. Just this past week, my mother was feeling weak and had a blood pressure of 178. She was rushed back to the hospital for the second time and the doctors informed me that my mother had a bilateral stroke. She is currently still being monitored in the hospital.
At the moment, the only people in my family willing and able to provide money are myself and my niece, who my mother helped raise. Together, my niece and I have been supporting my mother for the past three years; however, with her increased health issues, our finances are nearly drained.
All the money donated will be used to pay off my mother's current medical bills, as well as any future expenses if any other complications arise, God forbid.
My mother is praying to see me and my niece this year for her 90th birthday this December. We have planned our trip, but we want to ensure her health stabilizes before then to make her wish come true.
We are extremely grateful for all of your donations, thoughts and prayers in these trying times. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and God Bless.
