Hey friends (or friends of friends)!
Two weeks ago my apartment caught fire and we lost the bulk of our items to fire and smoke damage! I didn't have insurance (seriously, get insurance, y'all!) and the landlord's insurance does not cover any of my belongings. It really sucks!
I am raising money to cover replacing furniture and other items, moving, and cleaning costs and putting down a security for a new place. It's actually pretty tough to ask for money I have discovered! It sucks!
So give what you can, or don't, because I totally get it, we are all broke and life goes on either way. I picked a middle ground number. If I make more, great. If I make less, great! Anything helps. Thanks to so much to everyone who has helped me out already, it's been amazing and (almost) made it worth it to have a fire.
Here is a partial list of what this money will be used for! -Cleaning some salvaged items
-Moving costs
-Storage costs
- Security deposit
-Mattress
-Couch
-Dresser
-Kitchen stuff (all bowls, dishes, plates, cookware, coffee maker, blender, etc.)
-Linens, towels, bedding, pillows, etc.
-And a bunch of small everyday items that add up to an annoyingly large dollar amount
