Sean's Story:
Pastor Sean Shores served at Word of Life Church since 2012 and loved his family, friends and church family with all his heart.
Sean has been a leader and servant throughout his adult life, and had a passion for helping those that needed it most. He began his professional journey as a public defender for low income familes and truly was devoted to anyone in need. As a pastor, he continued to show his love and devotion for those in need, and that is where his heart remained through everything he did.
Sean grew up in Follett, Texas in a family of 6 -- two sisters and one brother, with high school teachers as parents. Sean grew up playing basketball and excelled on the debate team. He also worked on his high school newspaper. He loved learning and sharing knowledge with others.
He was a passionate student at Oklahoma State University and carried that passion for "The Pokes" throughout his entire life, so much so that in most photos of him he was wearing orange. After graduating from O.S.U., Sean went on to complete his law degree at Washburn University in Topeka, KS.
Sean practiced as a public defender in Wichita, KS for 10 years. After serving his community and clients for so long, he felt called to reach people at a different level and quickly found that studying to be a pastor was the right way to fulfill this passion.
In June 2010, Sean met Tammy Trimmell who he discovered was just as passionate about serving others as he was and loved his 2 year old son Alex and 13 year old daughter Katie as if they were her own. They married in November in 2010 had their daughter Sasha in December 2011 followed by their son Jackson in July 2015.
In 2012, Sean and Tammy graduated Bible College and began their journey as pastors in the Word of Life Church. They planted a church in 2014 in Wichita while they both taught high school courses at Life Prep Academy. Sean also coached Soccer and T-Ball through the YMCA and high school basketball at Life Prep Academy.
