Save Snowy

Hello, Friends. My name is Richard Kaye and I am making a heartfelt plea to my friends, as well as asking for my story to be shared on Facebook with their friends. Our West Highland Terrier, Snowy, needs help. Last October, Snowy had an intestinal blockage after ingesting a large piece of rubber, and needed emergency surgery to save his life. The total cost of care for him was well over $4,000. In order to pay for it, both myself and my wife Jo Anna had to take out a loan through CareCredit. We are still paying off that incredible debt, when the unthinkable happened. Two nights ago, Snowy began exhibiting symptoms similar to those when he fell ill a year ago. A night's stay at his Vet and diagnostics confirmed our worst fear: he has another blockage. Today's vet bill alone cost us $736.00 for X-rays and fluids, and the doctor is 100% certain he will need surgery again to remove the blockage, as the item is lodged in his upper colon and is too large to pass. As we are already strapped financially paying off his last bill, there is no way we can afford another surgical bill which will no doubt be in the same price range. We tried to sign up for emergency pet insurance, but they do not cover 'pre-existing' conditions; i.e. if we had already had the insurance, it would be covered. He is a happy, healthy dog otherwise, so putting him down due to this accident is unthinkable as it can be fixed. We are returning to the Vet tomorrow (Saturday) for him to receive more IV fluids and another X-ray, but with the long holiday weekend we are worried. He will probably need surgery by the beginning or middle of next week, and we are beside ourselves with worry and fear over how to pay for this. As you may or may not know, Jo Anna and I do not have children and our Snowy is our baby. He is a joy to us, and everyone who knows him. It would mean the world to us if anyone can help, no matter what the amount. Those of you who know Snowy personally will understand how important this is to us.
