Support for Craig Sexton: Rebuilding After Tragedy
In the early hours of December 17, 2024, a tragic fire tore through the Sexton family’s cherished building in East New York, Brooklyn. This heartbreaking event claimed the life of Dennis Sexton, a 69-year-old man with special needs, destroyed the family’s small business, and left several families displaced just before the holiday season.
Craig Sexton, a 21-year Army veteran, returned home after his military service to care for his aging parents and his brother Dennis. For over 40 years, the family building was their home and livelihood, housing their father’s tire shop on the ground floor with apartments above.

In an instant, the fire took Dennis’s life, reduced the family business to ashes, and left their home uninhabitable. While they have some insurance, the immediate costs are overwhelming, including:
- Funeral expenses to honor Dennis’s memory.
- Building repairs, including replacing tenants' windows and addressing extensive fire damage.
- Temporary housing for displaced residents during the holiday season.
Craig has always been a pillar of strength for his family and community. Now, in the wake of this unimaginable loss, he needs our help. Your generous contributions will support funeral arrangements, rebuilding the family business, and restoring their home.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. Thank you for your kindness and support during this difficult time.
