I set this fundraiser up to help a family that is in need.
Daniel was born with an uncommon heart condition called Hypo Plastic Right Ventricular (he is missing the right chamber of his heart). From birth he has been in and out of the hospital, and gone through many surgeries. He was not expected to live past the age of 3, and he is now 18. If you knew him, you can see just how strong he is. Daniel is not eligible for a heart transplant because of how severe his condition is at this time. In June 2016 he was told by his doctor that he only has about one year left to live.
Just a week ago Daniel was life-flighted to UCLA hospital due to stroke-like symptoms. They found a brain tumor, 2.5 cm big in the right side of his brain called a Glioblastoma Multiforme. They determined that it has been developing for at least 2 months and has spider-webbed through his brain. He has had severe headaches for the last 3 years.
It is in-operable because the operation could kill him. Chemo-therapy is not an option because his body is not strong enough for it.
Daniel is going to go home where he will leave in peace, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He is the 6th child out of 7. Everyone that meets Daniel leaves with a smile on their face. He enjoys making people laugh by telling jokes, and just tries to help you have a better day. He is a Lego enthusiast, and a food connoisseur. The Slafter family is truly blessed to have such a special spirit around. He is the type of person that lights up the room. But Daniel is terminal, and there is no telling when he will leave us.
I set this fund up to help Daniel's family with medical and funeral expenses. He deserves a proper buriel, and costs for a funeral can get pricey.
Please help in any way that you can. Every little bit helps. If you have any questions please let me know. I will post updates when I receive them. If you cannot donate to this cause, I ask that you pray for the Slafter family. They need all of the love, peace, and comfort that they can get at this time. I appreciate all of you for taking the time to consider donating to this cause.
Thank you
