Makakilo Elementary School is a grade K through 5 elementary school located in Kapolei, Hawaii. We have a population of 500 students.
This year, Makakilo Elementary School is taking on the challenge of trying to “Cool our School” by raising funds to install air conditioners in every classroom. It is extremely hard for teachers to teach and for students to learn when classroom temperatures can fluctuate between 85° and 95° on a daily basis.
Our fundraising goal for the Makakilo Elementary School “Cool the School” AC project is estimated to cost a whopping $250,000. We have invested $100,000 to start the initial phase of the project. We are now asking community members to support our efforts in reaching the remaining $150,000.
