Leah Frances Jones, our beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother and aunt left this world sadly on the morning of Friday, August 26, 2016. Following a brief illness, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her family. The multitude of condolences and expressions of sympathy have come from across the country and from as far away as Europe, Africa and the Caribbean. Leah was beloved and treasured by so many, and our hearts are heavy as we look to the days ahead. A vibrant, kind and gentle spirit who touched our lives, we are forever grateful to have had her with us for as long as we did.

Leah’s son Joshua, now 15, was her world, her Prince. The closeness the two of them shared was a gift, and she was so proud of him. Her mothering, mentoring and caring for him has molded him into the wonderful young man he is today and will continue to become.
Joshua shared with his mother that it was his dream to one day become a doctor – perhaps to one day bring healing to those also suffering with illness like cancer, the demon which took his mother.

In lieu of formal funeral services, we want to honor Leah’s memory in the best way possible and as she would have wished. We are asking those who are able to contribute any amount, large or small, to help Joshua to achieve his dream of college and medical school. The funds collected will go into a college saver plan for Joshua and the family will be sure to acknowledge every donation with a heartfelt word of appreciation. If you cannot make a financial contribution, then please just offer a prayer or words of encouragement to help Joshua to move ahead, do great things and continue to make his mother, now is forever angel, proud.
