My name is Cassandra Hernandez and I am 32 years old. I have a hope that by sharing my pain  I can start the journey of healing. In February of 2011, I began having extreme bone pain and fatigue. Then came abnormal swelling in my arm, leg, and foot. I became physically debilitated and was told from a doctor that I have reached last stage of what is known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. RSD is a severe chronic neuroimflamatory disorder that sends constant pain signals to the brain and occurs when the nervous and immune systems malfunction as they respond to tissue damage. The pain level is measured as one of the most severe on the McGill University Pain Scale.

My name is Cheri and I am Cassandra's mother; I am deeply affected by her misery. Her Son suffers the loss of his Mother as the binding and beloved link in the family. The devastation of RSD is traumatic; however, through research and treatments, there is hope. In two weeks she will be traveling to Arizona for a treatment that we hope will help alleviate the pain. This is why we ask for support, to help us get the necessary series of treatments that can give her quality of life back. We will be grateful more than words could describe to receive any donation to help Cassandra get the treatments she needs to get better.
