2 Months To Save Ian
Donation protected
Update, today the oncologist says the cancer is spreading and the only hope for a cure is not currently available in the United States. We are still hoping to reach our goal to be able to take part in the Rigvar Therapy that has the best proven results with this type of cancer. To everyone who has donated, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Please share our link and keep the campaign going. It really is Ian's only chance of reaching his 33rd birthday. 32 is too young to be diagnosed with cancer. But that what Ian was diagnosed with as he sat in his doctors office alone waiting to hear that he had an ulcer or maybe even Hepatitis C. If only the news was something simple, something less devastating. But it wasn't. It was stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. The good news was that he was eligible for the Whipple operation. The procedure was grueling to say the least. His pancreas was removed, part of his intestines and gallbladder. The lifelong after effects if constant pain and digestives problems were worth it though. The doctors were able to remove the tumor and we hoped that the cancer would not return. Last week he had his first cat scan since the operation in April and the news was so much worse than we expected. The cancer is back and has engulfed his liver. We were told without chemotherapy his life expectancy is 3-6 months. With chemo, maybe a year. Neither of those options end with a cure or a long happy life so we are opting to take part in an alternative therapy, photo dynamic cancer treatment that has excellent proven results but the treatment is $36000.00 and insurance will not cover the costs. This is our only hope for a cure and we are asking for any donations from anybody to help us reach our goal to have a chance to save this son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many, many people. Any help would be deeply appreciated.
