Hello for those of you who don't know me my name is John. My husband Terry is very sick and under Hospice care currently however he has been told that he has only a few days left with us here on earth. We have been together for almost 10 years and thanks to the new laws in place we were able to get married almost 2 years ago. This has been a very sudden diagnosis as Terry was just home from physical rehab from a hip surgery and doing great only just a month ago. Unfortunately he had contracted a bacterial infection in his bloodstream and this went undetected as he was already weak from having surgery and working so hard to do his recovery. One night while we were watching the Olympics Terry became very unresponsive so I had to call 911. He was rushed off to the hospital where he was placed in ICU and that is when they found the infection however it was too late. The damage the infection did was shut down his liver and weakened his heart. The prognosis went from getting better soon to terminal in a matter of a day. I was shocked!! We opted to have him come home on Hospice and live out the rest of his life here at home with our puppies and myself and he could be more comfortable. I was working all the while until today when I had to take a personal leave of absence from work due to the advice of his nurse that he only had a few days to live. I unfortunately have to take unpaid leave as my company does not offer bereavement pay. Also, this was such an unexpected thing that we were not prepaired with final costs as well so I am faced with a large sum for this as well. Any and all help would be great as I can't afford to take the time I need before returning to work however I also can't think about returning to work right away either. I can't thank you all enough for the help you provide me from prayers and a shoulder to cry on all the way to any financial help you can provide.
