Patsy Quadrino's Support Fund
This is Patsy, he’s 38, bright, handsome, outgoing, loving and unfortunately has never had a chance at enjoying his life the way most of us get to. He’s a super awesome cousin who has been suffering for several years from a very rare genetic disease called Huntington's chorea. The most visible feature of this genetic disorder affects his brain and central nervous system taking over his body and causing him to involuntary lash out in violent movements. It’s a progressively deteriorate condition that has no cure and creates extreme suffering not just for Patsy, but for his family as well. Due to his condition, Patsy has had to be hospitalized throughout his late 20’s and 30’s in a special care facility in Boston.
Recently, Patsy was diagnosed with acute leukemia and is given only months to live.
His Mother and Sister, who live in NY, have been at his bedside the last couple of weeks as the doctors revealed his latest diagnosis. Patsy knows he’s in for the fight of his already stolen young life, he held his mother’s hand, and knowing things aren't going well told her, "I don't want to die.”
This is breaking our families hearts, especially that of Patsy’s Mother, and Sister. They both have nothing left. They‘ve run out of money paying for food, and hotels, and they’re desperately trying to bring him home. Thankfully, kind nurses have been letting them shower and sleep in his room at the hospital in Boston.
They are too proud and strong to ask for help. These people are very dear to our hearts and because they suffer so deeply we suffer too. What our family can gather we’ve sent, but for the long fight ahead for Patsy, it sadly won’t be enough to keep them there in his last moments on this earth.
Now we are coming to all of our friends and other family members to further help us, help them.
