First off, the picture isn't of Ben and Joel, but I figured one of Ben and his family would generate a little a little more sympathy. Just sayin'...
Ben and Joel, our brothers from GTF, were attacked in San Diego while attending the NATCA 2016 convention. Joel suffered some chipped teeth that will need repair.
Ben wishes he had it that good. He suffered a broken nose, lost a tooth ( I think he also chipped a couple of others), a fractured left eye socket and a fractured upper jaw. He was hospitalized as a result of the attack and will require surgery to place plates on the eye socket and jaw to stabilize them, along with some dental work after his jaw is wired shut for 6 weeks.
Ben and Joel were away from their families to represent their membership, and our region for that matter, at convention. The convention delegates from the Northwest Mountain region thought it would be a nice jesture to raise some money to help these two dedicated brothers (from a historically 100% NATCA, 100% PAC facility) offset some of the out of pocket expense they face for their medical treatment.
We wish Ben and Joel a speedy recovery and a return to normalcy for them and their families.
