Jessica Williams Manzanilla

Hello, we are Eric and Cindy Noel, from Sowing Seeds in Belize and we'd like to introduce you to our friend Jessica.

Jessica is a 30-year-old who is happily married to Jamir – they live in the Toledo District of Belize. After a miscarriage in 2018, Jessica and Jamir were overjoyed when Jessica became pregnant in 2021; but it was discovered that Jessica had fibroids and a placenta previa. This diagnosis required emergency surgery, taking the unborn, underdeveloped baby girl from her womb and nearly taking Jessica’s life. Unfortunately, the surgical procedure has made it impossible for Jessica and Jamir to ever have children.

Several months ago, Jessica began experiencing additional issues – a growth was found on her thyroid, and a biopsy determined she had thyroid cancer. Jessica’s thyroid was removed, and doctors are now recommending that an iodine test is needed to see if cancer has spread. This test is not done in Belize but rather in Cancun, Mexico. Jessica’s husband has frequently taken off work to be by Jessica’s side, which has put a tremendous financial and emotional toll on her family.
