Andrew and Eric Serving in Israel

Most of you reading this probably know who we are but just in case you don't, here it is.  Andrew and Eric are firefighters in Santa Monica, CA .  In addition to being firefighters we are also Christians, husbands and fathers. We really feel like we have come across an amazing opportunity to serve in Israel.  Emergency Volunteer Project is a charitable organization that finds professional firefighters who are willing to work alongside firefighters in Israel to help supplement their staffing during crises.  During these times of Crisis, Israeli call volume increases and many Israeli firefighters are called to arms which requires the need for more people to help staff the fire engines and trucks.  We feel this is a unique opportunity that encompasses a multitude of ways to serve.  We will have an opportunity to use our professional skill sets to help serve in a country for a cause we truly believe in, and by doing so, display Christ's love to that community. To serve overseas is a great opportunity in itself in which we can help to protect the Israeli people from fires and help create a brotherhood with the Israeli firefighters we meet.  Showing that we are willing to face danger and sacrifice for a cause we believe so strongly in is a demonstration of our life on mission for Christ. We are planning a deployment November 5-12 to complete our training in Israel so that we can be deployed during emergent situations when the Israeli fire service needs us the most.  In future situations the Israeli government will cover the costs of airfare and lodging, however, to complete our training, we must attend a 10 day training deployment in Israel, which we must pay for ourselves.  We hope that our loved ones, friends, coworkers, and the people we know through church understand our passion to serve in this unique opportunity.  We are so grateful for anyone's consideration in donating to this cause as we pursue to intentionally show Christ's love to others through our professional skill sets.  We are so thankful for everyone's time and willingness to donate and we will gladly update everyone with our experiences through this process.  God Bless!
