Neil's Cancer Fund

Donation protected
On Monday, August 1st, my newly married brother-in-law, Neil Christiansen and his wife Katie were cleaning out their garage.  Neil took a horrible fall and was rushed to the hospital.  It was determined that Neil needed emergency surgery which involved replacing broken bones in his left hip.  Neil was transferred to USC hospital where surgery was performed.

While Neil was in the hospital recovering from his hip surgery, his doctors ordered a bone scan to see if they could figure out why his injuries were so devastating.  The bone scan showed that Neil has Stage 4 Cancer.  It is in his bones and blood, which includes the right side of his skull, his right shoulder the middle area of his spine, and his left hip area.

Although Neil has been fighting prostate cancer for over 13 years, it had not significantly impacted his ability to work until a car crash in 2012.  Neil was not at fault in the head-on crash, but suffered bodily trauma in the crash.  He believes that the prostate cancer spread at this time to other areas of his body due to the impact trauma of the crash.

Neil has been self-employed for over 30 years and has been struggling financially since the housing crash of 2008.  Neil cannot work at this time and needs financial help to pay for everyday expenses, including rent, electricity, food, insurance and his health needs concerning the cancer, etc.

Neil is newly married and, unfortunately, his beautiful wife, Katie is dealing with her own devastating health issues which have prevented her from working for the past several years.  It is a very tough time for the both of them.  Neil has always been one who is not afraid of hard work and has always been available to help anyone in need.  He is a faithful Christian, always ready with a joke or a prayer (whichever is needed) and shares his love with a smile that lights up a room!

Neil's oldest son, who lives in Hawaii, is getting married at the end of October.   Along with his everyday needs, it would be wonderful to also send Neil and Katie to Hawaii so that he can attend his son's wedding.

Neil and Katie would be exceedingly grateful for any help that you could extend to them at this very difficult time.
