Hello! My name is Maricris Lapaix and I am the new Miss Orange County USA 2017. I'm so excited to be honored with this opportunity to spread my platform on the importance of health and fitness. Let me share my story about my journey to this title.
On August 19th, I read that the Miss Universe Organization announced that they raised the maximum age for competition from 26 to 28. I'm currently 27 years old. I've always dreamed of making it to the Miss USA stage, and ultimately the Miss Universe stage. Within minutes of hearing this announcement, without any hesistation I searched for a preliminary pageant that would allow me to possibly compete at Miss California USA 2017 this December if I won the title. I've never entered a pageant so fast. However, I saw this as an opportunity I could not pass up. I had been blessed with a possible opportunity to make a big dream of mine come true.
With only 9 days to prepare, I worked hard to ensure that I had everything I could to prepare me as best as possible for the Miss Orange County USA pageant. Most importantly, I had to remind myself not to worry about being the oldest contestant, but being sure to show the judges that my passion to spread my platform of health and fitness is greater than anything else to be considered. And I'm so happy to say that my positive mindset ultimately led me to take home the crown of Miss Orange County USA! Now it's time to get ready quickly again for the fast approaching competition of Miss California USA 2017 in December.
I'd appreciate any donation of your choice to help me reach my goal, anything starting from $10, or less, or more would be of great help! All donation amounts would greatly help me in ensuring that I'm primarily focusing on preparing myself as best as possible for the competition at Miss California USA 2017. All donations would be put towards paying for the remainder of my Miss California USA entry fee, competition gown, swimsuit, and all the other needs of a pageant girl!
