There have been many reasons why we have waited so long for an update on my dad, Dr.Webber 's current condition. Some of you maybe know it's been a long unpredictable hjourney since we started in October of 2016.
Although his set backs such as his knee replacements failing multiple times causing above the right knee amputation on January 25th 2017, followed by a stroke on February 9th leaving him unable to eat anything by mouth (only ice and lollipops ). Reason being is he's suffering from something called server dysphasia. He is getting nutrition by a J tube through his stomach. Which still leaves him feeling hungry. While being legally blind makes every obstacle more difficult for him.
We are hoping that continued speech therapy will somehow make it so that my dad could eat again. My dad (Dr.Webber) has also found that learning how to walk with this prosthetic is going to be difficult . I believe with his determination and strength along with all the love and support that we have given him he will do nothing but strive and conquer this challenge. We definitely are looking at a lot of out patient rehabilitation.
My goal is to keep sharing this story to one to inspire people , two to help someone going through something similar if not completely different (if it helps just one person we've made more then just a difference in Dr.Webber's life in everyone who reads about him), and to continue help my family get through this tough time. (I also think it would be cool to get his story out to a local OB/PL news paper ) feel free to send me suggestions on how to do that. Maybe it could reach a patient my father has helped that has no idea this is going on with his heath and wants to give back.
Continued support , prayer, shares , likes. I know financially they are struggling to pay the medical bills and for medical supplies in order to keep my dad well. While my mom struggles to leave him by himself while she tries to work as much as she can.
My dad, some how always seems to shed light on every situation. He has always believed that everything happens for a reason, usually to improve knowledge. I personally think his journey has taught me & so many others so much about appreciating the little things in life and this has definitely made him and everyone around him a more loving and compassionate person.
I would also like to personally thank my mother Debra Webber for everything she does for my dad on a daily basis. And somehow you still find the strength to go to work . The way you handle everything that's going on is so admirable. You truly are the strongest person I've ever met and Dylan and I are so lucky to have you to look up to.
Thank you to all of our loving friends and family for your constant love and support, keep sharing liking and sending words of encouragement to Dr.Webber because this is truly his second chance.
Love,
Gabrielle, Dylan , & his loving wife Debra
