My name is Cameron Ziegenfuss. I'm writing today to ask for financial help for two good friends of mine who have fallen on hard times.
Ryan and Kirsten Smith, friends we know from church, recently attended a Financial Peace Univeristy class that I co-facilitated with my wife. They were so passionate and excited about getting out of debt and handling money God's way that this fall they will be hosting a class of their own. Their passion for getting themselves on track financially has turned into a passion for helping others do the same. I love seeing how excited they are to help others!
Earlier this year, Ryan and Kirsten lost a law suit brought by their neighbor, alledging that their retaining wall encroached on their neighbor's property. They had been paying off their debt for about a year and this court order that demanded they remove their retaining wall has set them back an ENTIRE YEAR's worth of debt that they had just paid off. I want to say it was somewhere in the neighborhood of $15,000 between lawyer fees and having the wall moved.
To add injury to insult, Kirsten just found out she has Thyroid Cancer and will be undergoing treatment starting this month.
Yes, they have insurance, but there are still co-pays, deductibles, meals that need made, babysitters that need paid, and so many other things that go along with fighting cancer.
I hate to see people who are trying so hard to do things right and help others go through struggles like this.
Hopefully we can help get their debt snowball rolling (again) and give them peace of mind.
My wish is to bless them beyond their wildest dreams as they fight this cancer and recoup from the lawsuit. Worrying about money sucks enough as it is. Worrying about money while going through cancer is something I can't even imagine having to do.
100% of the money raised here will go to the couple. Stephanie and I will match you all dollar for dollar up to $750 but I hope we can get way more than that!
Let's bless this family like God has blessed all of us.
Please consider donating today. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions.
