Mac & Lisa's Newest Fight

Donation protected
I am Lisa' sister Susan. This was the only trip out of Tulsa that Mac ever got to take when we brought her to Colorado for a week in 2013. She was able to get out for a half day before she would go back to my house and spend the next day in bed. She had this routine for the week of visiting. We made the best of her time and strength.

Lisa and Mac live in Tulsa, OK. Mac has been in a fight for her life for 8 long years now and she is only 22 years old. Her appendix ruptured and after approximately 20 surgeries, she is hoping for a better quality of life. From this rupturing she has developed 2 rare diseases, Sclerosing Mesenteritis and now Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome.

This new fight is to try and give her a better quality of life. She has been accepted to the transplant hospital in Cleveland, OH. They have found a doctor, Dr. Kareem who changes lives and would like to finish evaluating her for a a multiple organ transplant. But first he wants to open her up and see if any repair is possible and maybe save one or more of her organs.
Angel Flight will fly them to Cleveland Clinic when it is time. This means they need to move to the Cleveland Clinic by March 13th to get the testing started. She is scheduled for her first surgery on March 23rd. They are expected to be there for a minimum of 5-6 weeks but Mac's track record of hospital stays is longer than that.
After healing from this surgery, she will go back to Tulsa and be put on the transplant list and wait. For how long, no one knows.
We are raising funds for Lisa's household and personal needs while she is in Cleveland.

Lisa will be with Mac in Cleveland the whole time which means she cannot work. She misses so much work already because Mac in inpatient on a regular basis for weeks at a time.

Lisa misses alot of work because of Mac being in the hospital. She has no benefits at her office plus no sick or vacation time. She works as a paralegal but there are many complications as you  can imagine with a sick kid under your full time care and trying to work full time. There is no way to ever catch up.

We would like to take the stress of paying her household bills from her at this time. House payment, car and personal insurance, car payment, utilities, etc.

Lisa regularly misses many hours per week since Mac has a long list of tests that need to be done before they ever get to Cleveland Clinic.
We have been blessed once before with a campaign like this to pay for an experimental treatment that in the long run didn't help as much as we hoped. You helped make it happen and for that we are so grateful.

We are blessed to have friends and family like you to make a difference in their lives.
If you have any question for our family, don't hesitate to ask me.
