Matthew, Lori, Nate, and Lexi are a wonderful family that we've come to know and love, and Lexi is now facing a second kidney transplant. Her loving father, Matthew, donated a kidney to Lexi previously. Unfortunately, no family members are a match for a new kidney. Not only are we desperately searching for potential organ donors, we would also love to offset the costs of travel and treatment for the Kortz family. Any contribution is much appreciated, and if you are interested in testing to be a donor, please let us know.
The following message is from Lori, Lexi's mom:
It pains me to have to ask for help, but we desperately need your help in finding a potential donor for our sweet Lexi. Her kidney function has dropped to 24% in 6 weeks and she will need another transplant soon. She is Type 0 (the +/- does not matter). I spoke to the Transplant Coordinator today and she went over the requirements for donor testing. Potential donors must be between the ages of 21-55, have a BMI less than 32, non-diabetic and no high blood pressure (even if it's controlled by blood pressure meds). Because Lexi is not a good candidate for dialysis (it didn't work for her well the last time), they know that time is of the essence and will work faster to get donors tested. If you are interested in being tested or have any questions, please message me and I will pass on your information to our coordinator. Thank you everyone for your love and support. It truly means the world to us!
