Hello everyone, as you all know our dad recently suffered from his first stroke. I'm sure one can relate to our experience when you receive that one phone call that literally makes your heart drop, oblivious to your surroundings, and hoping that what you think you just heard was false and some sick joke. Our dad is our rock, our hero, and our motivation for all that we are today.
Growing up he was never the one to speak or lecture us, but instead a man of his actions. He worked early mornings, to come home mid afternoon only to leave again after a 30 minute nap to head out to the farm and continue to provide for his family. He gave us the life that we have today all because of his hard work and dedication. He never complained about being tired or being sick, never said he can't do this or give us that but always found a way. He took care of us and made sure that we always had a roof over our heads and food on the table regardless of what he had to do for it. He showed us that with perseverance, he was going to provide and take care of his family of 5 girls...and he did. We owe him our lives.
Til this day he still refused to sit around and do nothing but was always on the search for a job, whether it was selling food and vegetables at Waikiki's night market or mowing people's lawn and redoing their landscapes. He's a fighter, and he has definitely proved that with this stroke because within 4 days of being hospitalized he has surpassed everyone's expectation in his progress. Currently he is in Queen's Medical Hospital in Hawaii and we would like to transport him to Florida where he will be with his immediate family. We feel that he will always have someone there to watch over him and support him through his long road of therapy and also to make sure that he takes his medications because we all know how stubborn asian parents can be.
His insurance will not cover his bill to be transported therefore we are reaching out to friends and family all over to please help us bring our father back to Florida to be cared for by his family. The expense will also help us pay for any other medical bills that will not be covered by his insurance. We appreciate anything that can be given and we most certainly understand if you can't help at this time but saying a prayer for his recovery is more than we can ever ask for.
