Superman Kamil fight SEPSIS
Kamil was born February
12, 2015, a healthy 8lb 13oz baby boy at Jefferson University to the parents of Portia & Mustafa. Kamil was the happiest busiest baby ever. He loved playing with his older sister and enjoyed going to school. He brought so much joy to his family because he was so full of life and act older than he was. At nine months he was taking steps, learning how to walk tearing his mother house apart. On December 12 when he turned 10months Kamil was admitted at children's Hospital of Philadelphia for what the doctors thought were phenomena. Throughout the night, Kamil health turned for the worst starting with abdominal compartment syndrome and shortness of breath. A few hours later Kamil was getting rushed into the Operating Room for emergency surgery on his abdominal. The surgeon came out with what the family thought was good news that they did not find anything but was dreadful because the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with him and what was causing the ACS.
As the days went on Kamil heath was deteriorating. The doctors warned his parents his only had a 10/20% chance of living. Kamil had been diagnosed with the third stage of sepsis, Septic Stock, which is a widespread infection causing organ failure and dangerously low blood pressure. The inflammation resulting from sepsis cause tiny blood clots to form, which block oxygen and nutrients from reaching vital organs. As a result, the organs fail, causing a profound septic shock. This may cause a drop in blood pressure and can lead to death. In Kamil case, the doctors were able to catch it in time and treat him with intravenous antibiotics to fight the infection and pressure medication to help constrict his blood vessels and help increase his blood pressure. Kamil also received a lot of IV fluids to prevent dehydration and a trachea to help him breathe on a ventilator.
Kamil heath surprising started to get better and soon he was out of the woods with sepsis. Due to the Blood pressure medications Kamil suffered from peripheral arterial disease. Without adequate blood flow, his lower body cells couldn't get oxygen and nutrients they need from the bloodstream. As a result, the infected tissues began to die. On February 3rd, Kamil went into surgery to get both his hands amputated, and on February 5th, he got his below the knee legs amputation. Kamil still has a lot of medical complications he has to deal with and a long road ahead of him in and outside of the hospital. He's currently started his physical therapy, occupational therapy and is waiting to start his molding to start his fittings for his prosthetics he will need.
Any money donated will go to help pay for any medical expenses and prosthetics he will need in the near future. No amount is to small. We appreciate the prayers before anything.
