Roxanne's medical costs

I have been battling stage 4 Endometriosis for the better part of 12 years or so. As a result I have had 5 surgeries in those 12 years but unfortuanately to this point have not been able to stop the progression of my disease. It kept coming back. I've been at my wits end but have kept looking for an answer.
The good news is this summer I found an Endometrosis specialist in Northern California whos approach gives me the best hope for lasting results that I have had in a decade. Unfortunately, it means one more surgery but hopefully it will be the last ever. The challenge is the cost of the process and our current state of insurance.
I have pretty good insurance, but unfortunately Dr. Cook is "out-of-network" (insurance speak) so in addition to typical co-pays, deductables and travel, my share of the costs will be much higher. I will also miss work for 4-6 weeks. All told, even with insurance and going on temporary disability, we think my expenses will be close to $20,000 and I'm still digging out of the medical expenses incurred for the past surgeries.
Honestly, I won't be able to afford this without help so I'm reaching out to friends and family.
My goal is to have the work done the first week of October giving me a chance to recover and return to work before the busy holiday season.
The upside is, I hope to have control of my body and career again. It has been a long haul of tramendous physical pain and missed opportunities both personally and professionally as a result of my disease. I will spare you all the graphic details, but Endometriosis is debilitating and extremely painful both physically and emotionally. It also cannot be allowed to get worse. I'm already at stage 4.
...But I'm excited and optimistic now. After 12+ years, 5 surgeries and a lot of trama, I'm in a new place. It is time to get my life back and I have hope in a way I haven't for years.
Dr. Cook specializes in my illness with a great patient track record. I've already met with him and am receiving ongoing lifestyle coaching from his staff. If you are interested in learning more about this disease and Dr. Cook check him out at Vital Health, the Endometriosis specialty center http://www.vitalhealth.com/endometriosis-specialty-center/
Many of you have been there for me these last few years. If you can do anything to help me out financially at this stage I would be very grateful. Every little bit helps, but also know that your emotional support and friendships are just as important to my healing and recovery no matter what.
Thanks! Much love to all..., Roxie!
