This campaign is to help my dear friend Matt be able to stay here in the US with his friends and family.
Matt is an American transplant from down under. He has been married here in the states for about 4 years. In the middle of the process to gain permanent residency his wife asked for a divorce. While this should not effect his ability to stay in the states it very well could if not handled properly & without proper representation he could be asked to leave the United States. Therefore, he needs to hire both a divorce and immigration lawyer to ensure that his rights are protected. Hiring one lawyer is financially difficult, but hiring two is near impossible for anyone!
Please help us in retaining the needed help to keep Matt here in the states, where he has built his life and where he has friends and chosen family to support him! The purpose of this fund is to help pay the retainer fees for the needed lawyers. Retainer fees get used quickly and any money raised beyond that amount will go to help him pay the continued lawyer's fees.
Matt is active in his community and is the first to lend a helping hand when other's need it, and I know that his is a pay it forward attitude. Please help us help him stay here; words would not be able to express the gratitude we would all feel :).
