Sydney's YWAM Outreach
Hi Friends and Family,
The past few months, God has been directing my life towards a very incredible opportunity. Extremely excited, I want to tell you that beginning in January, I will be a part of a program called Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for six months until mid June!
For those unfamiliar with YWAM, it is a program through which volunteer staff and missionaries lead students in knowing God and making Him known. It's an international organization, having bases all over the world, and encompasses Christians of every denomination.
This first phase of YWAM is a Discipleship Training School (DTS); I will be doing my training at the University of the Nations in Kona, Hawaii (yes, I am thrilled to get to LIVE in Hawaii:) for three months. There I will receive teachings on a variety of subjects, spend time in worship and prayer, study the Bible, and learn how to share what Christ has done for the world.
The second phase of YWAM is Outreach which is a 2 month mission trip to another country where we will put into practice everything we have been taught. The locations for Outreach include Nepal, India, South Africa and several other countries. I am SO amazed that I get to serve God and impact other people in this way in just a few months!

We believe that through intimate communion and whole-hearted obedience we will see the power of God displayed and have effective outreaches with long-lasting fruit! Imagine communities all over the world – closed countries, slums, refugee camps, orphanages, urban centers, university campuses and remote villages – walking in a dynamic marriage of prayer and missions. Such communities have shaped history, and we want to see it happen again!"
Many of the people in the countries we are sent to do not know that there is a God who created them. God loves each of his children with a mighty and perfect love (this has changed my life; it has completely altered the direction of it and what I value) and I desire for every person to know this truth! On Outreach, we will use the abilities and gifts God has given us to serve others and share who he is. I am passionate and excited about loving people, especially children and young girls, by caring for them and talking with them! I love to serve people in tangible ways and sharing God’s unconditional Joy he's placed inside of me.
