A little about Kimberly & Michael: Kimberly has worked in the Orthodontic field for over 20 years. She loves working with children and is great at what she does. Her work and patient family already miss her presence terribly. Michael is a Metro Police officer and a former United States Marine MP. Both have admiral jobs that serve others. That is how they are....selfless, caring people always doing for others. They have been married for 5 years. Michael as 2 children, Taylor and Tatum. Kimberly is the proud "Bonus Mom" to these kiddos! Sepmer Fi!!
Approximately 2 weeks ago Kimberly began experiencing numbness in her feet and legs. She went to her primary care physician where they ordered an MRI thinking this was just a pinched nerve or something to that effect. Due to Kimberly's persistance of knowing "something wasn't right" , she was able to have a few appointments expedited. A couple of days later they found themselves at St Thomas hospital being directly admitted from the clinic they visited. The doctor discovered on the MRI that Kim has 2 masses inside her spine pressing on her nerves. Less than 24 hours later he performed surgery on her spine and discovered their worst fear- that the masses were a form of cancer. The tumors could not be removed but they did remove a little for biopsy.
Instantly their world was changed but she has stayed hopeful and positive. They have recentley found out the Kimberly has Ependymoma, a rare neurological cancer. Treatment plan of how to fight this is still being discussed but will be updated on her Facebook page "TeamKim". If you know Kim you know she will be ready for a fight! They have had an outpouring of support and love from family and friends. She has been surrounded by love every day since she has been admitted.
This is going to be a long road for Kimberly and her family. Any financial burden we could lift would be a blessing to them.
Please continue to pray for this precious family. You can follow Kimberly's story on facebook on a page created by her husband Michael. The page is TeamKim . https://www.facebook.com/KimParman/
