Rob & Tamara's House Fire Relief
Donation protected
Rob & Tamara have just recently completed the renovations on their first home. On Saturday 27 August 2017 the heat mat in Tamara's snake tank shorted out and the house caught fire. Luckily nobody was home.
Rob & Tamara are insured for the building repairs that will need to happen. However, having recently completed the renovations to their house as owner builders they are not insured for contents (nor is their housemate who lost his clothing and electrical items). This means that Rob & Tamara will need to replace all of their household equipment including clothing, furniture, whitegoods, cultery & crockery as it is not coverd by insurance.
As Rob says "things can be replaced, but we are fine and that's the main thing". On the one hand, yes but on the other - a resounding no. Rob & Tamara are pretty private people and are refusing offers of assistance. I (Rob's cousin Sam) figured that a GoFundMe campaign would mean that Rob & Tamara couldn't refuse the assistance that we can provide.
The real kicker is that Rob & Tamara have lost all of their stuff once before, in a house fire 2 years ago in the Blue Mountains. Rob is one of my favourite human beings and both he and Tamara are two of the nicest, kindest, most deserving people you could ever come across. They are also newly engaged and preparing for a weddding.
Can you spare a few dollars to help them replace some of their lost items?
