Hey guys,
My name is Moyo and I am seeking help to finish the remainder of the credits needed to obtain my Bachelor of Arts degree. Usually around this time of the year, upcoming graduates are feeling mixed emotions. Some are focused on finishing their academic semester on a high note, others have a severe case of senioritis and are struggling to finish the final stretch, few are scared of what the future beholds, and the rest are excited to embark on their new journey.
This time last year, I, like many other students was stuck in the middle. Even though I was taking a five-course load for the semester I still needed to take two more classes to claim the ever-precious Bachelors degree. While most people left happy and accomplished after walking across the stage, I stayed on campus and completed another four-week intensive course. After that, I waited a few weeks and endured another four-week intensive course at Baruch College. Determined and confident, I was proud that I was able to persevere and pass seven classes in what I considered an elongated spring semester. Even though I passed all the classes taken over the summer and completed the best academic semester I’ve had at Wheaton, the passing grade I received at Baruch was not adequate enough transfer as a full credit.
Even with all the hard work I put in, I remain .3 credits away from obtaining my degree. It had seemed that all my effort was for nothing. With “real life” right in front of me, I had to put on my big boy pants and find a way to maintain like everyone else. So over the past few months that’s what I’ve done; maintained. With that being said I have never been a person to not finish out a task that I set out to accomplish. I spent 4 years at this institution and refuse to walk away empty-handed.
Over the past few months I have saved $1000 solely to be used for summer classes. Typically a private person the past few months have allowed me to think and mature. Perhaps my biggest downfall has always been my pride and not allowing myself to ask for help. Older and wiser, I have realized that people are willing to help, I just have to be willing to ask and take their help.
Even with $1000 saved, the cost to take a summer course at Wheaton is still pretty expensive. I am asking for your help to lighten the costs. Any amount will help. The break up of my summer costs include:
Tuition: $2,380
Housing: $325
Summer Session Meal (option) $528
Total = $3,233
I extend my sincere gratitude to all who help
