Hello Family and Friends,
This isn't easy, and it even feels a little tacky, but we are in need of some assistance for Lucas (our nephew) to help pay for his preschool/daycare. Whitney (his mother) has given us temporary custodianship, which worked great during the summer when all of our older kids were home to help watch him. But now that school is back in session, we are paying for full time preschool and daycare - $140/week.
Whitney has been diagnosed with bipolar and, during this medication adjustment time, is no longer able to take care of Lucas. We do not know how long she will be unable to care for him, but we have agreed to revisit the question at the end of the calendar year. This fund is to get 17 weeks of preschool/daycare covered.
The preschool/daycare we have him in is the one that many of the teachers in American Fork School District take their own children, so we feel confident that it's a great place. He has loved it for the couple of weeks that he has been there.
I am aware that there are state organiztions that typically help out lower income folks, or foster kinship children. However, because we don't want to get courts, lawyers, CPS, DCFS, (etc) involved in this situation, these organizations cannot provide any assistance at this time.
So we are asking if you have any extra dollars to share with a super smart and great kid who we are thrilled and honored to care for, feed, dress, play with, and give him and stable happy, healthy home.
It's just this daycare cost that eating us.
It would be very helpful to us and especially to him, even each person giving just $10-$20 adds up.
***If our small business does really well in the next few months, we will discontinue this campaign and any funds raised up to that point will go into a high interest kid's savings account that only Lucas will have access to after he turns 18. This money will be only for him.
