I am writing with humility to ask for your assistance in helping me to reach a personal goal and take advantage of a unique opportunity. I have been asked to join the Lusk Center for Real Estate Executive Committee. This is an invitation only opportunity, but one that requires a $10,000 donation.
It is an honor to be invited, and also an opportunity for me to raise my profile, within a high level and influential board in Los Angeles. Very few women sit on executive boards overall, and this provides a chance for me to diversify the board, to be recognized for my accomplishments and contributions in real estate in Los Angeles, and also to help pave a path for other women to follow.
Because I cannot achieve this contribution alone, and my company does not have a policy about sponsoring this type of opportunity at this time, I am -- with deference and respect -- asking friends, family and colleagues to help. If you are in a position to assist and choose to do so via GoFundMe; or if you’d rather write a check directly to the Lusk Center, such donation is tax deductible [donations to GoFundMe are taxable to me, and not tax deductible to you]. The Lusk Center also sponsors the Ross Minority Program in Real Estate, which enables members of minority groups and those that invest time, talent and financial resources in emerging communities to establish a foundation toward becoming leaders in real estate finance and development.
