Chris McDermott - The fight of his life!

On Friday 12th June Chris and I received the devastating and heartbreaking news that Dr's had found a cancer spot on his right lung.
One week later Chris is admitted to hospital with sever lower back pain.
The next two to three days resulted in one scan after another, one test after another. With Dr's, specialists and surgeons now determining Chris’s future, sadly our worst fears were confirmed.

On the 29th June the news was shared with us that Chris had cancer hot spots in his shoulders, neck, lower back, hips, lung and cancer had eaten away at the bone in his right leg now creating a fracture.
Sadly that wasn’t the end of the most heartbreaking and devastating news, Chris’s cancer is inoperable, and at a stage 4 terminal status.

Chris has since commenced a course of three chemotherapy drugs, this will occur every 21 days as well as radiation therapy for 8 days in a row which will continue for months on end, hoping desperately that these treatments will suppress the cancer and buy us more time as a family.
At a later date Chris will require surgery on his leg to insert a metal ride and pins to give the leg some stability for him to gain full use of it again. In the mean time he is required to use crutches and a wheelchair.
Chris has started a bucket list of things he would like to do with his boys and myself, as well as achieving things on our family home that we had always planned and discussed that we wanted to do.

Chris has commented that he is at peace with the situation but is so focused and determined to be the one statistic to beat his diagnosis. With the fire in his belly and his strength and will power we know that he will fight and give it his best.
In the meantime, we as a family will live each day to the fullest, creating every memory possible for our boys.
I have set up this go fund me at the suggestion of others as we have had so many offers of support and people wanting to be able to do something to assist, hopefully we can use this as a platform to show Chris how much we believe in him.
Thank you all for your support at this time, we are very appreciative.
