Family of House Fire Rebuilding
Donation protected

James, Emily and Lucy Auger were victims in a tragic house fire on August 27, 2016 in Berwick, Maine. All occupants made it out of the multi-unit building, but unfortunately some lost pets and James was badly burned trying to put out the blaze out himself. All families were displaced and the Augers have lost everything that was in their home, leaving them with only the shirt Emily was wearing and the bottoms James had on. Luckily, Lucy was not home as she was being cared for by her grandparents for the weekend so the young couple could celebrate their third wedding annniversary. Their initial plan was to be away for the weekend, but after adopting a puppy a few weeks prior, the two stayed home to care for the pup instead. Ironically, the puppy ended up being the cause of the accidental fire, knocking over a candle in James and Emily's bedroom. Little 10-week-old "Jude" made it out of the fire in Emily's arms unharmed. Sadly, their cat "Meatball" hasn't been seen and is thought to have perished in the fire. James was discharged from Mass General the following day to continue home care for the second and third degree burns on his hands, arm, shoulder and leg. He will have follow-up doctor's visits in Boston over the following weeks.
This page has been started to help James, Emily and 15-month-old Lucy...and Jude...relocate and rebuild a home as they are starting from scratch. James will be out of work while his wounds heal. The length of time for his hands to mend will be more clear after the next Dr.'s visit next week in Boston. Any denomination is appreciated. If you are financially not able to contribute, we would appreciate your prayers to help the healing, phycially and emotionally, for this young family.
