As most of you know on Aug 14, 2016 Zach and McKenzie's lives positively changed forever. At 5:30am on Aug 14 Kenzie's water broke at 27 weeks. When she went to the hospital the Medical team thought they could give her some medication to keep her from going into labor but her body had a different idea. By 4pm Kenzie was dilated to a 7 and rushed into the OR for a C-section. The result were two precious babies, Jaxson and Siena.
Since Aug 14 the babies have been in NICU and will remain there until their due date (around late October). Although Zach and Kenzie have good insurance, they still have a small percentage that will not be covered. Even though the percentage is small, over 2 months in the NICU adds up to a significant amount, especially with double the expense due to having twins.
Zach and Kenzie have not said much regarding the expenses and are trusting in Gods care for their financial concerns, but you can tell that these mounting bills are becoming a significant stressor in their lives. As of now its looking like the out of pocket costs will be around $10,000. Many have asked how they can help and I thought with all the stress of having their babies in the NICU, we could maybe try to help them with this financial burden. If 200 people provide $50 we could wipe out their $10,000 medical expenses. Of course any amount will help, but as the saying goes, "many hands make light work."
Our family wishes to thank so many for your prayers and support during this time. It is so nice to know that when we are not praying that there are so many of you lifting this little family up in prayer. If you are unable to help financially please pray that the Lord continue to send his angels to watch over and care for these two wonderful gifts.
I will post updates whenever there is one and of course post PICTURES because, what 2lb baby isn't cute?
