Michael Messick's medical bills
Donation protected
As many of you may know my father, Mr. Mike, has been in ICU since the beginning of August 2016. On his first day of his new dream job, teaching music classes, he told the children he wasn't feeling well, sat down & then slumped over in his chair. He was then rushed straight to Piedmont Fayette, where they discovered he had a brain bleed and needed neruosurgery immediately. They proceeded to life flight him to one of the best hospitals Atlanta has to offer for neruosurgery, Emory. His surgery went wonderful. His recovery has been very slow, as he has faced an awful infection in his lungs, doctors realized he had aspirated. Raising his fever to over 105 for days and it lowered his breathing significantly to where his life support machine was doing most of it for him. The doctors decided to put him in a paralyzed state for a week to allow his body to heal as he was fighting the machine trying to help him survive. My father is a miracle. With all he has been through the past month he went from being one of the worst cases in his unit, to the BEST. We are so thankful for his amazing doctors who never gave up on him. His is now being taken off of his sedative and hopefully the vent will be out next. It is going to be a long recovery for my father. He will be in need of some serious rehabilitation, that unfortunately is not covered by the insurance policy we currently obtain.
We appreciate all of your prayers as it has been a very difficult time for my family. We are setting up this fund to help with his medical bills. No matter how big or small the donation may be, it will help getting him back on his feet and back to doing what he loves most.
Please keep praying for my father as he still has a long way to go. But he is the strongest man I know, and I know God is on our side.
