Help Abby Wilson Stay in College

Many of us in the lung cancer community know Abby Wilson's story. Everyone who knows Abby,  knows what an amazing and beautiful and gracious soul she is. I trust those who are just now being introduced will see her strength, courage and inner beauty. Abby was diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer at the tender age of nine. That's correct. She was nine years old when she was diagnosed. Abigail, as she now prefers to be called, turned 18 this past January. She has undergone multiple surgeries and chemotherapy approximately every three weeks for the past nine years.

Abby is a living miracle. This month she became a college freshman at Georgia College & State University.  

But Abigail is in a serious financial jam that is threatening to prematurely end this semester at college. Some financial support she had expected did not materialize. Right now she needs $1,000 to stay in school. After this semester, her financial aid should be sufficient to cover her educational expenses. But she needs your help now. Please help.  

When Abigail was applying for scholarships over the summer, she looked for matches that would fall under her diagnosis. She found several but they were only for students who have had a family member diagnosed with lung cancer or for teens who have breast cancer or any other adult cancer except lung cancer!
