Better Computers in ASA Digital Lab

Hi! My name is Jayme and I am an alumni of the Firestone High School VPA program. 

I went to the community open house for Firestone High School's new building and was disappointed to see that the dark room that I had the privilege of using when I was a student has been eliminated from the new building to be replaced by a digital lab. This digital lab contains computers that my peers and I used back in the previous building that are most likely well over a decade old and have outdated software and capabilities that will not benefit future students at all.

While I understand nice things are expensive, I am frustrated because all of the other classrooms (science labs, marketing labs, etc) have newer, updated computers. The visual arts have once again been neglected and it's not fair. 

I am putting together this GoFundMe page to help raise funds for newer computers and materials for visual artists in the Akron School for the Arts. I am currently unaware as to whether or not APS plans to replace the computers anytime soon in the digital lab, but I figure if I raise money to help the art department, it makes a statement that the arts are important to the Akron/Firestone community.
