Luke Goedert was involved in a softball accident on Sunday, September 6, 2015 when he collided with another player trying to be the playmaker he is. This is a fundraiser to help him and Nicole with all the expenses incurred with his accident.
At the time of the accident Luke had very limited movement, numbness, and trouble breathing. Luke had to be life flighted to UNMC to undergo cervical spine surgery to remove a damaged disc that was compressing his spinal cord. The disc was replaced with a cadaver bone and secured with a plate and four screws. Luke is still currently in the surgical trauma intensive care unit where he is improving each day with the support of his doctors, nurses, wife, family, and friends. Luke has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Luke and Nicole are both early in their careers as nurses at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha where they are always helping others and putting the needs of others first. Now they are the ones in need of a lot of love, prayers, and support from family and friends during this time.
