On Saturday, August 27th my family and friends put together a beautiful Going Away Dinner for me. Friends and Family members gave me goodbye hugs and so did Luis...little did I know that Luis' goodbye hug would be the last one. He was the last person to wish me luck on my future endeavors and to wish me a goodnight. On Sunday morning, August 28th around 5am there was a traffic collision in my hometown a total of five vehicles and one motorcycle were involved. The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle driver was my friend Luis.
I am so heartbroken and still in disbelief. Luis forgot his black leather jacket and his hat in my house last night that with tears I returned to his inconsolable mother . His hat read: "Still Alive." He said he wore his hat because he was always grateful to "Still be Alive."
Luis was the most generous, warm hearted and giving person. His family and friends' hearts are shattered into pieces by this loss of an amazing human being.
May he rest in peace. We love you Luis!
