Have you ever felt the desire to help a child in need? If so then you have an understanding of what my sister and brother-in-law have been feeling for a number of years.
To tell their story, and answer the question of why I'm putting this campaign together, I need to go back a few years. Allison and Todd now had three boys and were very much enjoying all the things that come with the responsibility of parenthood. But Allison describes a constant nudge that God was asking her and Todd to do more. Unfortunately, there are children all over our World that don't have the love, and all the benefits that come with that love, that their three biological boys or our children have. This 'nudge' was a constant push for them to help one of these children, even though you could say they already had their hands full, through adoption.
Over the past four years they have looked into domestic and international adoption and even talked with DSS. See the push was not just to adopt a normal, healthy child, but one that may have special needs. These children often go unadopted and are the ones that need parents the most. Through prayer they decided to focus on working with the America World Adoption Agency (https://www.awaa.org) to adopt a little girl from China.
This is where WE can help. Adoption is unfortunately very expensive and a deterrent to many. Allison and Todd embarked on this journey through faith, but knew the financial side was going to be one of the biggest challenges, just to get this precious little girl to the States. The agency told them to plan on spending around $30,000, and quite frankly, this wasn't in the budget. Through my own prayers on what I could do to help, I felt like there are many people out there that would want to help as well. I'm hoping that may be YOU.
I asked Allison and Todd for permission to start this campaign and they honestly had mixed emotions about it. But through prayer they agreed to let me do this small thing to allow us to help. Not all of us all called to adopt, and not all of us are in a position to do so, but we all can give a little financial support to help make this a little easier on Allison and Todd. No amount is too small and we all thank you for considering this special cause.
