A Walk To Never Forget
Donation protected
Every dollar is one step closer. " The number of Americans living with Alzheimer's disease is growing - and growing fast. An estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages have Alzheimer's disease in 2016. " Walk: 10:00AM. Location: Veterans Park South Pavilion Hamilton, NJ. _______________________________Our Story: Hello everyone ! For those of you that have walked this journey with us, you know my sweet Grandma's story. This year she was diagnosed with an advanced stage of Alzheimer's, and it all spiraled pretty quickly. At first this disease started with forgetting bits of conversations that were spoken earlier in the day. Before we could bat our eyes Granny's recollection of what it means to feel "at home" became a distant memory. She felt as though she was living in a stranger's house, terrified to be alone. The fear she was living with every day, despite our nearly daily visits, was enough to break our hearts. My family decided at that moment that we have to do whatever we can, by ANY means, to make Granny feel safe again. Grandma's house on the market, ✔️.Parent's house on the market, ✔️.Reinvent the word home, ✔️. Within a two month span they closed on the wonderful purchase of a Mother / Daughter house. Every day since, my family has been working overtime to create a safe place for the kindest soul. Watching someone you love feel so helpless in this already chaotic world is so unfair. Despite knowing what she's up against, you'll never see her fall victim. No one should have to fight Alzheimer's disease. And if they do, they should never have to fight it alone. On September 25th, let's walk for a cure. 100% of donations will go to the Alzheimer's foundation to help find a cure.
