Peter DiPrizio's Medical Expenses and Recovery

Donation protected
Peter tested positive for Covid on 10/2/21. He went to the emergency room @ Wentworth Douglass Hospital on 10/9/21 due to onset symptoms of Covid. He was sent home then returned on 10/11/21 as symptoms quickly progressed. He was admitted to WDH. On 10/11 and sent to the ICU. Peter was put on a ventilator on 10/20 so that his lungs could rest and have time to heal. After attempts with further treatments and procedures with no positive outcomes it was decided it was time for him to be transferred to another hospital that could meet his persisting medical needs. Peter went into cardiac arrest on 10/21/21. He was resuscitated and remained at WDH in the ICU until a bed became available at another hospital. He stayed in ICU at WDH until 10/22. The call came @ 6:00pm that he would be Med flighted to Beth Isreal Hospital in MA at 10:00pm on Saturday evening on October 22, 2021. As a family we were able to visit Peter daily as he continued to fight for his life in the ICU at Beth Israel Hospital. We stayed at a hotel with in walking distance for two weeks to be as close as possible to him while he was in this critical state of health. He had many days that were concerning, requiring one on one nursing care and immediate medical attention through out his days in ICU. We then traveled back and forth each day to be with him as much as possible. Peter remained in the ICU until 12/2/21. My mother has been on a Leave Of Absence from work since 10/4/21. She was with him daily at the hospital while at BIH and when he moved to Long Term care at NE Sinia @ Carney Hospital in Dorchester, MA from 12/2-12/8/21 when visiting stopped due to increase in Covid. Visiting switched for us to Face Time calls and we treasured each and everyone of those. Peter was discharged on 12/23/21 to come home. Peter is a faith filled man. He is active in our church, St Mary’s in Rochester,NH. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus, in Rochester, NH. The Knight’s organized a prayer vigil for Peter in front of WDH in October. Our family, friends and community found hope, strength, comfort and courage through prayer. We were afraid yet together we prayed that the Holy Spirit would drive away Peter’s sickness and disease. Restore strength and renew health to Peter’s body. When Peter was awakening from his paralytic state in the ICU. Surrounded by immediate family, a close friend, several nurses and a physician he was repeating words over and over. He had no voice due to being intubated for 23 days. He was given a wipe board. The nurse held it and asked him to write down what he wanted to say. He wrote, “God is Love”. He mouthed it over and over. We all shared his joy! We acknowledged him. Saying, Yes, God is Love❤️ What an amazing moment for our family. He lay in his bed smiling and repeating it over and over to himself. Peter has a marathon ahead of him as he continues to heal. It is a slow and steady process. Filled with days of Occupational and Physical Therapy as well as other medical treatments and appointments. We are grateful to our family, friends and the community. We have been overwhelmed by your concern, love and care for us, and generous gifts of time and money. We have started a go fund me page knowing as we move forward there are many needs and expenses our family will endure. We thank you for your donation. This will bring comfort to Peter as he progresses forward on his road of recovery. He is our “miracle” as we say. Peter is such a positive, fearless, kind hearted and full of grace man. We are so proud of him as we have begun to watch him continue to come back from this awful virus. He is totally motivated to return to his life filled with days at home with his family, at church with his fellow parishioners, active with his brother Knights and at work with his coworkers at Coyote Creek Outfitters!

We thank everyone for their donations. If you cannot donate we would appreciate you sharing our go fund me and for your continued prayers!
