Brennan Hughes And Family
Brennan is only 5 years old and already had over 50 surgeries including a kidney transplant. He is lucky to have great parents who work hard and his mother Karylanne even donated her kidney for him. In addition to his kidney problems and dialysis he has undergone surgeries for various other things including multiple procedures to have his urethra stretched out just so he could go to the bathroom normally. Due to his condition he had to be fed through a machine for the first couple years of his life. A few days ago he had pneumonia and his heart stopped while he was at the hospital and he had to be revived. He has gone through more pain then anybody who lives 100 years should have to go through and his parents undoubtedly feel that pain too. As a father of a five-year-old I Can Only Imagine how much of a toll the stress can take on you. Ryan is one of my best friends and Brennan's father and both of their attitudes are just remarkable considering the circumstances they have had to deal with. Ryan and Kay are both hard working people with full-time jobs and I'm sure would not approve of me doing this but I just feel like it is the right thing to do to help alleviate some of the financial stress because of missing work (FMLA doesn't pay you when you miss it just protects your job) I'm asking if you are able to spare some money to help them breathe a little easier considering how often they have to miss work and all of the other things that add up when your top priority is your sick child. Brennan is going to start kindergarten soon and he is one of the strongest and most positive little guys I have ever met. He honestly inspires me. I would just ask if you can afford to spare a little bit of money to help to lessen some of the financial stress and maybe even buy Brennan something nice it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how Ryan and Kay handle this as graciously as they do but they are great people, parents, and friends of mine. I'm sure if Ryan knew I was doing this he would tell me not to. Any amount helps I have never done one of these before and I never thought I would but I feel compelled because it hits close to home and nobody should have to go through what Brennan has and what Ryan and Kay have.
